a site just north of canberra in NSW with spectacular views to the north, north-west, west and south-west encompassing the yass valley,¬†brindabella monutains and canberra central. 2 “sister” volumes rise above a walled¬†masonry base of blade walls that anchor and sheltar the home to the side of a steep hill. volume 1 comprises the living spaces with access to the wonderful views, volume 2 sits at the back of the site with a more private and sheltared character. ground floor gym, rumpus, workshop and garage back into the steep slope. a sunken external courtyard provides external sheltar from harsh winds and sun. copper cladding is proposed to provide a comfortable visible¬†relationship between the building and its landscape setting
